The Rundown: The clone of Kahless goes on a journey of redemption before the end of the universe.

Kahless finds himself being visited by a mysterious voice who directs him to begin a new journey of redemption following his confrontation with Alexander and Worf. His journey will take him to where his legend began and the forging of a new weapon before his entire universe disappears and he finds himself shunted between realities.

After being confronted by the voice within the void, Kahless finds himself back on the Klingon home world where he begins a classic quest to end a ruthless tyrant. A quest that will bring him face to face with something he didn’t expect in a world that will challenge what he thinks he knows about his past.

The Story: Kelly and Lanzing make an interesting choice in this issue and I don’t hate it, but I’m also not a fan of it. Making Kahless the antagonist of Day of Blood was a great choice and he was so convincing that seeing him on a redemption arc takes away what made him an interesting character. The story is saved by the choices the character makes and who is directing his actions, but I want the ramifications of Day of Blood to have more meaning in this storyline and for Kahless not to be let off the hook so easy.

The Art: Mercer delivers some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art in the issue. I love the visual style of the story and the character designs a lot.
